Two checks were presented to the Jefferson County Commission to help pay for the NARCAN kits issued to Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies. The NARCAN in these kits is in a nasal spray form. This allows deputies to assist individuals suffering from an opioid overdose. The spray offsets the effects of the overdose. An added benefit is the spray does not cause harm if the person is not suffering from an opioid overdose. Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce President Amy Howard (first row at left) and Jefferson County Tax Commissioner Nancy McGraw (front row second from left) hold the $500 check from the Rotary Club of Jefferson County. The other check, also for $500, is held by Greg Sellars (first row at right), executive director of the Development Authority of Jefferson County. This check is from Kiwanis of Louisville.
