Subject: Help Us Serve! Bring Items for Two Special Service Projects to District Conference
Dear Rotarians,
We’re excited to announce that this year’s District Conference on Jekyll Island (April 25–27) will include two meaningful service projects – and we need your club’s help to make them a success!
We are collecting:
- Gently Used Sports Equipment – These items will be donated to youth sports programs serving low-income families in Coastal Georgia. Think basketballs, soccer balls, baseball gloves, cleats, pads, and other youth sports gear.
- Used Shoes for GotSneakers – Any type of athletic shoe in wearable condition can be donated. GotSneakers will either recycle or redistribute them, and all proceeds will benefit nonprofits supporting underserved youth.
How You Can Help: Encourage your club members to collect items now and bring them to the conference. Donation boxes will be available on-site throughout the weekend. Let’s fill them up and show how our Georgia Rotary Districts put “Service Above Self” into action—even while we’re celebrating together!
This is a simple way for every club to participate in giving back—and it’s a great opportunity to clean out those closets for a cause.
Thank you for all you do to make Rotary a force for good.
We can’t wait to see you at the beach!
In Rotary Service,
District Conference Team
