Service Above Self doesn’t stop at our club meetings—it powers projects around the world through The Rotary Foundation.
During this Rotary year, each month we will spotlight the impact of our giving, and the lives transformed because of it.
For me, giving to The Rotary Foundation is one of the most meaningful ways I can help make the world a better place. My contribution—though small—joins with thousands of others to create lasting change both in my local community and around the globe. And when I see the impact of that giving—whether it’s a child receiving books, a family getting food assistance, or a seminar educating people on human trafficking—I know I’m part of something that truly matters.
As Rotary’s one and only charity, The Rotary Foundation (TRF) funds sustainable, life-changing projects across Rotary’s seven areas of focus. Since 1917, TRF has invested more than $4 billion worldwide. Through its unique Annual Fund – Share model, a portion of what we give comes back to our district as District Designated Funds (DDF) and is used to support global grants that clubs in our district want to do and local grants to give Clubs funds to do projects in their communities.
In 2024–2025, District Designated Funds in our District totaling $70,306 fueled projects in six areas:
- Education – $41,154
• Community Development (including projects supporting food assistance)– $12,461
• Health – $5,597
• District Youth Support – $10,497
• Environment – $597
You can find a more detailed breakdown of grants funded on the District Grants section in DACdb.
Every grant started with a Rotarian’s decision to give.
You can give through your Club or directly at Rotary.org. You can even set up a recurring monthly gift. If you have questions, reach out to your Club Foundation Chair, your Club President, or email me directly at RotarianAC@gmail.com.
Next month, we’ll feature Rotarian(s) sharing their own “Why I Give” story—because we all have a reason.
Let’s do good in the world together.
