Service Project Spotlight: Supporting Seniors and Their Pets
One of the highlights of our recent Rotary meetings was an engaging hands-on service project benefiting Senior Citizens, Inc. (SCI). Members came together to package dog and cat food into gallon-sized Ziploc bags, which SCI distributes to seniors who have pets and may need assistance handling or transporting large bags of pet food.
This project offered several meaningful ways for members to participate. Some generously purchased and donated the pet food, others helped organize supplies and coordinate the packaging process, and many rolled up their sleeves to package the food during the meeting. Special thanks to Laura Lane McKinnon for delivering the completed bags to Senior Citizens, Inc.
It was a fun, interactive project that allowed more members to be actively involved while making a real difference for local seniors and their beloved pets. By helping pet owners care for their animal companions, we supported both the well-being of seniors and the special bond they share with their pets.
